You Are What You Eat - Food Matters

I have been asked by a couple of my clients to comment on the Food Matters site and their DVD. I have posted their trailer for their movie below.

From the Food Matters site, you learn that Food Matters is a feature length documentary film informing you on the best choices you can make for you and your family's health. In a collection of interviews with leading Nutritionists, Naturopaths, Scientists, M.D.'s and Medical Journalists you will discover:

How to use food as medicine
Who needs vitamins?
Is organic better?
How safe is our food?
Natural treatments for lowering Cholesterol
Foods that fight Anxiety and Depression
Natural therapies for Cancer
Which drugs might do more harm than good?
The best ways to detox, lose weight and keep it off!

You can see their site and order their DVD here: http://www.foodmatters.tv/

The Nutritional Company I have partnered with has long said that the best way to get your required nutrients is through whole foods. Indeed you have to get Iron from whole foods as when Iron is contained within a Nutritional supplement it interferes with the body's ability to absorb other nutrients.

My position concerning foods is two fold: 1) one leg of our chair of health is to eat goods and abstain from bad foods and, 2) while nutrients from whole foods is highly desirable, it is almost impossible to achieve, hence the need for high quality, high doses of nutritional supplements. Again, we believe you simply cannot eat enough foods to give your body the nutrients it needs for a healthy functioning immune system. For instance we believe that each person must consume 450 IU of Vitamin E each day. To obtain 450 IU from whole foods you would need to eat 4.5 lbs of Wheat Germ,...or 3.0 lbs of Almonds,....or 38 lbs of Spinach. I think you see my point.

Don't make of mistake of placing "pharmacuetical grade" nutritional supplements in the same category as the pharmaceuticals that Food Matters mentions. Over 106,000 people a year die from complications associated with the side effects of prescription pharmaceuticals, while "pharmaceutical grade nutritionals" refer to the standard of manufacturer and quality of the products where you get exactly what is advertised and can rest assured that bio-availability, efficacy, dissolution are the best that can be made and are guaranteed, and you are also free of any possible toxins or impurities.

Let the buyer beware!,....or, let the eater beware!!
